We are an informal group of artists that meet weekly. Whether you are just curious, a beginner, or experienced you are welcome to come along and see what we do.
Members are encouraged to work with subject matter of their choosing and develop their skills with guidance from the more experienced artists and our tutors using a variety of mediums including pencil, pastels, water colour, acrylic, pen and ink, oils or anything that can make a mark!
We also have the benefit of two experienced tutors for our Thursday sessions, please see the "Our Tutors" tab for details.
We also hold some social events such as a Christmas and Easter dinner and visits to local galleries. We also meet on Friday afternoons at our local Hook library for "Social Sketching" sessions where we meet to chat, sketch and hopefully meet up with users of the library who may have an interest in what we do.
There have been some changes to how we meet and operate and these are set out below.
When you arrive at your first session you will be asked to supply contact details, name, address, telephone number and email address which will be kept by the Secretary. This is to enable the members to be contacted in an emergency.
On subsequent sessions members who have supplied contact details will only need to sign an attendance register for each session. This register will be kept by the Secretary as a record of attendance to be used for any future Track and Trace requirements.
During the morning and afternoon sessions a break for refreshments and a walk around to view and discuss members work will take place 1 hour into the sessions.
Sessions are held on Thursdays at 2 venues and on Friday afternoons.
You are welcome to come along to your first "taster session" free of charge.
Modest charges are made to cover room hire, payable in advance.
Prices are regularly reviewed and will depend on the number of attendees.
